The story begins with Ethward Manuel, whose extensive experience managing terminals in Curaçao and Bonaire laid the foundation for what would become Beta Energies. Ethward, a seasoned Managing Director, spent years overseeing operations at critical energy hubs in the Caribbean. His leadership in these challenging environments gave him a unique perspective on how to optimize terminal operations, improve logistics, and streamline the flow of petroleum products. His ability to manage both large-scale infrastructure and complex operations inspired him to create a new venture that would build on his successes in the Caribbean.
In partnership with Edgar Marquez, a petroleum production engineer turned seasoned energy trader, Beta Energies found its second pillar of strength. Edgar’s career, which spans more than 25 years, began with midstream project development across Venezuela, Central America, and Western Europe. Over time, his expertise grew to encompass all facets of the energy supply chain, from refining and upgrading projects to chartering, marketing, and logistics. Edgar's vast knowledge in downstream operations, including the distribution of refined products, transfer of custody, and supply chain optimization, proved essential in establishing Beta Energies’ competitive edge.
With a career that has seen him manage crude oil, fuel oil, and feedstocks across both European and American markets, Edgar brought a global perspective to Beta Energies. His extensive relationships with clients and partners in Latin America, North America, and Europe strengthened the company’s ability to bridge markets and build reliable energy solutions
